Christmas Decor Ideas 2021

Admin Team

Standing in our kitchen the morning after Halloween eating my childrens' Reeses, I always start to ponder what we'll do this year for Christmas.

Will we keep the same tree decor? Change it up a little?

Have I ordered our Christmas pj's yet?  ALL THE THINGS :) We typically end up with a few sweet things here & there around the house that we've set out for years.  They go in the same place, and the kids get so excited to instruct me as they remember where each thing "goes".  I love them and this time of year so much!

Here's a nice list I found on House Beautiful of pretty ideas for some sweet, simple, Christmas decorating joy:

Thanksgiving Tablescape Favorites

Admin Team

Everyone has their own version of setting a table, and it definitely sets a mood!  We have two (TWO!) drawers full of pretty napkins, placemats, and napkin holders that I'm hoping the little ones are old enough for us to use this year.  AKA will they leave them on the table so I can cook or do we have to hide them and set the table at the last minute? :) :) :)   Is it just us???

Somehow, by the time the turkey is done, and all the sides are miraculously cooked in the middle and browned enough, everyone is starving and eating random marshmallows and we just EAT!  Here's hoping!

Spring Porch Decor

Michele Broxton
I’m so inspired by Katie’s gorgeous porch! 🌸 We finished most of the construction work on our addition last year and just need some finishing touches (y’all...shutters are like turns out they’re kind of important 😂🤷🏻‍♀️).

Anyway, one little dream I have is to make our wraparound porch really pretty. I don’t exactly know how to do that, but it should probably start with taking down the Christmas decorations 😂. I also have been looking for a church pew and finally found the cutest one at Piney River Antique Mall! Their owner, Erika, is just the sweetest and so helpful!
Of course there will be plenty of potted flowers!  🪴 How to grow a hydrangea in a pot:

Hidden Beauty

Michele Broxton
One of my favorite things about life is hidden beauty. 💛 We find it in people when we get to know them a little better, we find it in travel when we ask the locals the best places to visit, and we sometimes find it in our own back yard.

In this season of changed plans and getting good at making the best of things, it fills my heart so full to find something like this, right here in our own local forest. What a great day adventure for our little crew!

If you haven’t already, consider subscribing to some local nature or historical groups in your area .... you might be delighted at what you find!
